Andrew Dodds graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 1998 with a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. After a brief spell working in Portsmouth he moved to Oxford and became the lead clinician of one of the largest orthotic centres in England. He has a special interest in lower limb biomechanics and graduated with an MSc in Applied Biomechanics in 2011.
Gait analysis is a specialism having provided orthotic opinion for the Oxford Gait Laboratory for 6 years and has undertaken training from the European Society for Movement Analysis in Children (ESMAC). Andrew specialises in custom made orthotics that maximises support yet minimises bulk and encumbrance.
In his free time, Andrew has completed Olympic and Half Iron Man triathlons, half marathons and off road running. In 2019 he came 3rd in the Colonsay International Golf Open. He also enjoys supporting his girls at football and rowing.
Andrew has received training from the Expert Witness Institute (EWI) and been preparing orthotics expert witness reports since 2011. He is independent from orthotic manufacturers therefore free to recommend orthotic supports without commercial bias.
Andrew has extensive experience of writing expert reports for a wide variety of conditions that benefit from orthotics. Examples include foot or leg trauma, drop foot or leg weakness, children with cerebral palsy.
